What’s the difference between hiking and going for a walk?
For some, the word “hiking” invokes an image of putting on all the gear and yomping at a pace over hill and dale like a military operation.
For me, the word hiking is synonymous with “going for a walk in the open countryside”.
It means going out and about, going on paths enjoying the views, the company and the fresh air. It means freeing your mind from the stresses of your busy life. It means putting it all down for a few hours and thinking about something else – you never know what a refreshed and relaxed mind will come up with.
What’s the difference that walking with Of Paths and Paddles?
We go at our pace. If you are a tortoise you will find people who walk at your pace (actually that’s me) and if you are a hare, you will find people who walk at your pace too. The tortoises are able to see the view on the way up as they take frequent breaks; the hares will drink in the view at the top.
Whatever your pace, if you want to enjoy a walk in the hills, the open air; if you want to be able to lift your head and see the skyline 360 degrees without a skyscraper in sight; if you want to relax your mind and refresh your mojo, a hike is exactly what you’re looking for.
