WALK with us

Fancy a walk?

How often have you promised yourself that you’d go for a walk, enjoy the great outdoors, disconnect from your phone and explore more, but then life happens, the weather looks a bit grey or you just run out of energy, or you just find something else to do?

Here at Of Paths and Paddles, we want to help you remember how wonderful it is to simply walk – for an hour or two or a full day.

When you join one of our walking days, it’s more than ‘just a walk’ though. It’s time to see the sky and take time to notice what’s around you. It allows you to silence your mind, make new friends and spend time with old ones. Our walks help you explore new places, build resilience and create stories that you can tell around the campfire during your future adventures.

Walking with us will help you carve out time for yourself, remember how amazing it is to give yourself permission to slow down and make time to breathe, give you freedom from the mundane or stressful day to day stuff and remind you how fantastic it feels to do something just because you can.

Yes, you can walk on your own but when you walk with Of Paths and Paddles it will feel like a magical adventure that you will want to do again and again.

Oh my word! with that list of benefits why wouldn’t you come for a walk with us?!

What happens on a day walk?

We meet at an agreed location. We walk in a small amiable group along a pre-determined route for about 6 hours (10-4). We go at a natural pace for the group. We stop and admire the views. We talk. We talk about the things that matter. We share if we wish to. We laugh. We breathe deeply. We enjoy the amazing countryside. We usually end with a tea shop or cafe or pub.

The routes are graded and accessible to all levels of fitness. Each group will have a group leader who will help you get the most from your walk. You can just enjoy the walk, or you can learn to read a map.

What if I can’t walk that far? Can I still join in?

Of course you can! That’s exactly why we created Monday Meanders. Meanders are half-day walks, for those who don’t have time for a full day-long walk, but who need a break; for those who need to build their fitness with shorter, gentle guided walks.

With routes planned to include stops for the view and for coffee, we will also include the usual laughter, like-minded walkers, chatter and minfulness. All the usual Of Paths and Paddles magic, condensed into half a day.
