Join us for a lovely half-day walk along the lanes, green lanes and footpaths of Wirral.

Monday Meanders are short, afternoon-long walks to set you up for the week. Take the time to stop thinking about work and lift your head and see the sky. Walking at a gentle pace, with like-minded women, we will walk along lanes, footpaths and old green lanes of Wirral, stopping midway for a cuppa (and a loo break).

Our Monday Meander for October 2022 will start at Old Clatterbridge Road, just outside Claremont Farm shop and cafe. Please park on Old Clatterbridge Road and not in the cafe/shop car park. 

If you’re coming by bus, the 410 and the 487 stop near the end of the road. You could get the train to Spital Station – it’s probably a 20 minute walk from the station to the start. 

Monday Meanders take place on the 1st Monday afternoon of the month (except when that day is a Bank Holiday).

Why walk?

Walking is good for us – we all know this. It helps with our physical and mental well-being. I defy you to go for a walk, no matter how long a walk, and not feel better.  However, we don’t always give ourselves time and space to walk.

But what if I don’t know anyone?

Well, you might not at the start, but by the time we’ve walked and chatted and had a cuppa and shared an afternoon with like-minded women, we will look forward to meeting up with each other again on another walk.

What should I wear?

I suggest strong shoes or walking boots. It’s likely to be muddy. A warm coat and if it looks like rain, a waterproof coat.

What if it’s raining?

Wear a coat. We still walk.  We will always take the weather into consideration, and high winds and deep snows may mean we change our routes, but hopefully, these are unlikely in October!  Rain, however, well, that is almost a certainty in the autumn in the UK.

What do I need to bring?

I suggest you bring a small rucksack or another bag you’re comfortable carrying. Money for a cuppa (if you want one)  at the end or half-way round. A water bottle if you want a drink en route.
